Armstrong Redwoods
I’ve never felt such profound solitude and peace as I did the first time I walked the paths of Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. Shortly after we settled into our new home, we discovered that tranquility was just within arm’s reach of our neighborhood.
This majestic grove is home to the tallest trees on Earth—Sequoia sempervirens, or coast redwoods. Towering over 200 feet, these ancient giants embody both longevity and community, living for an astounding 500 to 1,000+ years. Talk about vintage charm!
What captivates me most is the sense of timelessness these trees inspire—their towering presence and interconnected roots seem to whisper stories of resilience and unity. Walking among them, you can’t help but feel humbled by their quiet grandeur.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods who care for this wondrous place, ensuring it remains a sanctuary for all who visit. If you’re seeking a moment of reflection or a place to reconnect with nature, Armstrong Woods is an experience you won’t want to miss.
