A Trip to Two Trees Tea House
Imagine a winding road through the vivid Sonoma County countryside, leading you to a picturesque and historic main street. Every visit to Occidental reveals something special—a community deeply rooted in its small-town charm. So when I learned that a community tea house was about to open, my fondness for this place grew even more.
To visit Two Trees Tea House & Mercantile is to truly experience it. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed into a space designed for connection, calm, and reflection. Proprietors Chris & Adrian Lewis-Chang, the husband-and-husband team behind Two Trees, are the heart and soul of this tea house. Their carefully curated teas are sourced with well-being and sustainable farming in mind, and the space itself is a treasure trove—filled with personal heirlooms, travel finds, and remarkable handmade pieces by Chris.
Miles and I had the privilege of experiencing a Gong Fu Cha session, where we were served exquisite black and green teas. But what made this moment truly unforgettable was Adrian’s storytelling—his warmth, wisdom, and the deep connection he’s rediscovered with his heritage through tea. Sitting in a cozy, plant-filled nook, surrounded by ornate antique teaware, I felt completely at home in the kind of gentle, meaningful conversation that makes time slow down.
This afternoon was a beautiful reminder of the simple pleasures of tea—how it nurtures the soul and brings people together. To quote Chris and Adrian:
"It is within the walls of a tea house, over a pot of tea, where kinship is forged, culture and stories shared, and ideas and inspiration are transformed into action."
I encourage you to visit their online store or in person, check out their Instagram, and discover the magic for yourself.
